ROCK U. SIGN UP 2026-2027

ROCK U. requires an audition or recommendation from a TMC teacher. Lessons at TMC are recommended for all participants of ROCK U, but lessons for students aged 15* to adult are not required if the individual is proficient on their instrument(s) and can learn everything on their own. Students can join ROCK U if they're taking lessons elsewhere but only if their teacher will assist them with ROCK U music. A separate form for each ROCK U participant is required. A $35 Registration Fee is required If you are not a registered TMC student taking private lessons.

ROCK U Information

Bands to total 8 performing bands and 2 non-performng bands (HouseBand)
Bands must have all musicians and vocalists. Coaches will not be performing or singing with groups in ROCK U Season 5. We recommend asking friends, family and acquaintances who are proficient musicians/vocalists to enrol and audition. If we have students who sign up who can fill needed parts we will distribute as needed if possible.

ROCK U 200 - Ages 12-14 (60 min weekly) $150 Month/$900 Year

Bands with 2 Drummers: Tuition for each drummer $84 Month/$504 Year

ROCK U 300 - Ages 15-19 (60 min weekly) $150 Month/$900 Year

Bands with 2 Drummers: Tuition for each drummer $84 Month/$504 Year

ROCK U A+ Adults - Ages 20+ (60 min weekly) $150 Month/$900 Year

Bands with 2 Drummers: Tuition for each drummer $84 Month/$504 Year

JAZZ U - Ages 14 - 19 (60 min weekly) $150 Month/$900 Year (Auditions Required for ALL Applicants)

Bands with 2 Drummers: Tuition for each drummer $84 Month/$504 Year

HOUSEBAND - Ages 10-17 (30 min weekly) $250 per 10 wk Session

HouseBand is a NON-Performing Group with no events or jam nights

HouseBands with 2 Drummers: Tuition for each drummer $125 Year (No special events)

MUSICAL GENRES

Most bands fall into the Rock/Pop category. Other genres such as Heavy Metal, Jazz or Country Rock are subject to availability of musicians interested in those genres, therefore we cannot guarantee any particular style will be offered outside of ROCK/POP.

SONG SELECTION

ROCK U students vote on the songs they play. At the September ROCK U Orientation bands will vote on a few songs to work on, so they can come to the first rehearsal ready to play.

VOLUNTEERING

Students can volunteer to play in other groups if required. There is no limit to how many groups a student can volunteer for as long as they're able to keep up with the course load.
Volunteers only pay ONE full tuition for their main group*.
- For example: If Teri is singing in her main band, she pays one full tuition for the year. If she volunteers to sing or play guitar or drums in another band, she doesn't pay anything extra as she is helping out! So it really pays to volunteer! More experience, more exposure, more stage time and it's free!
- * If a drummer is paying half tuition because they are in a band with another drummer and wishes to volunteer to play drums or any other instrument in another band, they will be required to pay another half tuition to equal one full tuition.
