The ideal candidate will have a music degree or will be working towards a music degree (or possess equivalent teaching experience), friendly demeanour, professional attitude and love working with students of all ages. Ability to read music and possessing legible and theoretically correct music notation (of the instrument you teach) is required either by hand or with music notation software such as MuseScore. Note: Eligible Teachers/Sub candidates will be asked to come to an interview which will involve a meeting and a small performance.
Teachers are required to plan the curriculum for their individual students but will work together with the TMC team to provide learning support if required for material during concert events (ROCK U FEST and Spotlight) as well as our full time ROCK U program. Teachers are hired as employees and not sub-contractors. T4s are provided during tax time, and the music studio, musical equipment, photocopier, online resources and WiFi are provided.
TMC is a busy school with over 450 students and operates from Sept to June, days of operation are Mon-Thurs (3:30-9:00pm), Sat (10:00am-5:00pm) and Sun (11:00am-5:00pm). We feature a 2000 sq. ft space, 6 fully equipped modern studios, staff room with kitchen, secure keypad entry, security cameras, & free parking. Wage Expectations: Please consider this when submitting wage expectations that we offer affordable music lessons for families. Some hourly wage expectations we receive exceed our monthly rates.
