REGISTRATION PROCESS - EASY AS 1-2-3!

  • STEP 1: Fill out the online registration form (link below) with the FULL AVAILABILITY for each student on the form (up to 5 students from the same household). If you are available Saturday and Sunday this may increase your chance of getting a spot.

  • STEP 2: Submit form (due to our waiting list status, at this time fees are only due once a lesson spot is secured)

  • STEP 3: We'll contact you and work towards finding a suitable time/teacher if one becomes available. You will have 24 hours to accept the spot.

 

NOTE: WE ARE CURRENTLY AT OUR 400 STUDENT CAPACITY FOR FALL ENROLMENT. PLEASE SUBMIT OUR ONLINE FORM IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO GO ON OUR ACTIVE WAITING LIST. TRIAL FEES OR REGISTRATION FEES ARE ONLY DUE ONCE A SPOT HAS BEEN CONFIRMED.

A separate registration form for TMC's ROCK U program is required. One form per person.

COMMUNICATIONS

Students and families will be notified of all special events as well as scheduling changes pertaining to Winter Break, Spring Break, and statutory holidays. As well, we always have information available to families in the waiting area of The Music Cellar or on our website. Every effort is made to have our yearly schedule correspond as closely as possible to the school calendar.

 

ATTENDANCE & POLICIES REGARDING MISSED LESSONS (Sept 2024-June 2025) â€‹â€‹

  • If 24 hours or more notice is provided, students may reschedule one lesson per term (Term 1: Sept – Jan | Term 2 Feb – June). A Maximum of 2 rescheduled lessons requested by the student are provided for the year in total 

  • Students who start classes in January will be allowed one rescheduled lesson provided 24 hour notice is given.

  • Leave of Absence: if a student is going to be absent for an extended period of time for vacations, family situations, injuries etc (2 or more weeks concurrently), a Leave of Absence can be requested in advance one time per year (multiple LOA's cannot be granted)

  • Online Lesson Option: Please note that online lessons should now be kept to a minimum as in person lessons are preferred. Online lesson requests MUST be made a minimum of 2 hours in advance of the lesson.

  • Missed group or rehearsal classes cannot be made up but we ask that you notify us via email if you will be absent

 

TUITION FEES REGULAR LESSONS (Sept 2024-June 2025) Absent or Present

  • Regular lessons are 30-minute private lessons scheduled once per week at the same day/time/teacher 

  • Regular Lessons Tuition: $870/year | $87/month ($24.16 per 30 min lesson prorated) 

  • Weekly 60 Minute Private Lessons: $1740/Year ($48.32 per 60 minute lesson prorated) 

  • Lesson years are based on a total of 36 lessons/events. Events count as one lesson per
    special event (concerts, recitals) 

  • Registration Fee $35 per lesson slot (applicable ONLY to regular lesson registrations and not 6
    Week Trial Programs)

 

TUITION 6 WEEK TRIAL LESSONS & INFORMATION (Sept 2024-June 2025) â€‹

  • 6 Week Trial Intro Fees (all instruments): $120

  • Please note a student can only take one 6 Week Trial per instrument (example: they cannot do
    two 6 week drum trials but CAN do a 6 week drum trial AND a 6 week piano trial) 

  • If trials wish to continue after the trial period, they go into regular lessons (same
    day/time/teacher) and lesson fees are prorated into our regular billing system ($24.16 per
    lesson) then billed $87 per month afterwards 

  • Registration fee(s) are applied at the time a 6 Week Trial goes into regular lessons 

  • 6 Week Trials are payable on or before the first lesson 

  • 6 Week Trials can reschedule one (1) missed lesson if 24 hours advance notice is provided. 

  • Rental instruments are no longer offered at TMC. We recommend renting or purchasing from an established music store.


PAYMENT OPTIONS (Sept 2024-JUNE 2025) 

  • Monthly $87 per lesson slot absent or present (Based on 36 lessons = $24.16 per 30 minute lesson) 

  • Half Year Lump Sum $435 (1st payment of $435 due Sept 1st - 2nd payment of $435 due Feb 1st) absent or present 

  • Full Year Lump Sum $870 (Payment due Sept 1st) absent or present 

  • 6 Week Trials are payable on or before the 1st lesson absent or present 

  • Rock U Programs are payable in monthly, 3 month blocks, half year or full year payments
    absent or present

 

PAYMENT METHODS

  • E-Transfer paid to themusiccellar.payment@gmail.com 

  • Monthly Post-Dated Cheques made payable to “The Music Cellar” and dated for the 1st of each
    month (Sept to June) 

  • We do not accept cash, debit or credit card

TEACHER RESCHEDULING & SUBSTITUTES

  • Teacher Rescheduling & Substitutes: There may occasionally be times when a lesson is rescheduled or a substitute fills in for the regular teacher. Any classes cancelled by a teacher will be made up at a mutually agreed upon day/time


WITHDRAWAL 

  • A written Two-Lesson notice period via email is required to stop lessons at The Music Cellar. Your account will be reviewed based on the last day of your notice period and any balance plus or minus will be calculated.
